Organizational behavior studies the impact individuals, groups, and structures have on human behavior within organizations. It is an interdisciplinary field that includes sociology, psychology, communication, and management

organisational behaviour is “the study of human behavior in organizational settings, the interface between human behavior and the organization, and the organization itself.”[

OB can be divided into three levels.The study of:

  1. individuals in organizations (micro-level),
  2. work groups (meso-level),
  3. how organizations behave (macro-level).

Chester Barnard recognized that individuals behave differently when acting in their organizational role than when acting separately from the organization.[3] Organizational behavior researchers study the behavior of individuals primarily in their organizational roles. One of the main goals of organizational behavior is “to revitalize organizational theory and develop a better conceptualization of organizational life”

Course Objective

The course aims at teaching the basic principles and application of organizational behavior. On successful completion of the course students will be able to investigate the impact that individual, groups and structure on behavior with an organization. Student will learn theories and techniques, which they will be able to apply in their work life to make their organization work more effectively and efficiently. This course will enable them to master little skill, which will help them to improve productivity, reduce absenteeism, turnover and increase employee citizenship and job satisfaction in their career. It prepares the students for facing and managing organizational challenges in this millennium. It certainly would provide students a competitive edge in this fast growing business world
